Axiom Exergy Marketing Intern Job Description

We’re looking for an Marketing intern to play an important and influential role in developing targeted messaging and outreach for an innovative startup in the energy storage space. From day 1 you’ll learn about B2B sales, strategic marketing and business development.


About Axiom:

 At Axiom Exergy, our goal is to make the world’s energy systems smarter, more flexible, and more efficient in order to accelerate the proliferation of distributed, intermittent renewables.

Our flagship product, The Refrigeration Battery, is a retrofit thermal energy storage solution, specifically designed for supermarkets, groceries, and other facilities with high refrigeration load.  The Refrigeration Battery can shift over six hours of peak refrigeration load to off-peak hours, lowering demand charges for the customer and alleviating strain on the electric grid.


About the role:

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career in energy storage or cleantech or the rapidly transforming energy industry.

You’ll emerge from the internship with a deeper understanding of current electricity grid trends and what policies and programs are favorable for energy storage, as well as how rate plans are structured. You’ll also learn how to translate market dynamics and product characteristics into unique value propositions for a growing base of customers.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for clean energy and a keen eye for detail and fine print. This position will report to the VP of Sales and Marketing.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and key trends and market forces in the commercial refrigeration and energy storage industries
  • Assembling and prioritizing target customer and site lists
  • Developing strategic key account profiles including relevant business metrics, recent news and customizing value propositions to be used by the sales team
  • Refining marketing collateral
  • Assisting in the management of digital accounts including content identification and creation, aggregating metrics, and aggregating key metrics

The Fine Print

  • Start May-June 2019 and work with us for ~3 months; both negotiable.
  • Compensation in cash.
  • As startups go, the work is demanding and the hours are long, but we’ll make every effort to find an arrangement that works.
  • Moderate travel, mostly local.
  • This position is an internship with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment.
